This week we were asked to write about a
research tool we liked.
I personally find the "simple English
Wikipedia" very useful!
I'm sure most of you have encountered this
problem: your students are asked to read something, and it's really hard to
match between their level of English and their interests.
I am encountering
this problem as a book seller all the time; students from junior high are
looking for an interesting book for their book report, but their English level
isn't good enough for reading teens' books. The only books they can read have
really childish content.
While I can't find a solution for the "book
report dilemma", the easy Wikipedia offers a great solution for a similar
problem – finding approachable and manageable academic content for struggling
students.
I hope you all have a great "Hitnasut" week!
